SKODA SUPERB CENTRAL CONTROL UNIT (BCM)
Description
The Central Control Unit (BCM) for the Skoda Superb 2011 diesel is the vehicle’s low-voltage electronics hub for convenience functions and body electrical supply. It manages lighting, central locking, windows, interior lights, wipers/heated features, mirrors, alarm/immobiliser interface, and provides power/communication gateways to other control units via CAN. It also houses inputs for sensors and switches and outputs to relays and actuators.

-
Operating voltage: nominal 12 V DC (system range ~9 V – 16 V).
-
Supply sources: primary battery (permanent +30), ignition/switched +15, ground (31).
-
Wake/sleep currents: low quiescent current in sleep mode (designed to minimise battery drain; typical µA–mA range).
-
Output types: low-side drivers, high-side drivers or relay driver outputs depending on function (capable of driving coils/actuators through relays or directly for low-current loads).
-
Maximum output current: varies per output; critical high-current outputs protected by external relays/fuses (always check OEM wiring diagram for exact ratings).
-
Protection: reverse polarity protection, transient voltage suppression (TVS), internal fusing or fuse-bus association.
